Welcome to Budokan Wales ! Welcome to the official website of Budokan Wales Association. If this is your first time on this site we hope that you will take the time to review the information available here. Under Chief Instructor Hugh 'Bungie' Ruse 6th Dan. Budokan Wales consists of good quality and fully qualified Male and Female instructors, with years of experience behind them. Budokan Wales is a Member of the Welsh Karate Governing Body, the only "Sports Council for Wales" recognised Governing Body for Karate in Wales. We train in the Wado Ryu style of
Karate, which means "Way of Peace". It is a traditional
style of Karate (meaning "Empty Hand"), although weapons
are used in Karate. In training we use every part of the body to be
a weapon, which makes it an ideal form of complete physical and
mental exercising. Karate is also an excellent form of self-defence. As
Instructors we will teach you karate to the highest standard. You
are then able to learn the best karate available to you, which will
include ‘Basics’, ‘Kata’ and ‘Kumite’. We have a very high standard of
fighting in Budokan Wales, with several champions at local,
national and international level over the past 20 years. When you learn Karate with us we
will understand all the problems you have when learning karate, as
we have been there ourselves, We will help you to overcome these,
with patience and understanding, as we ourselves have been trained
to do. All the Instructors at Budokan Wales have the same aims for karate. They all want to promote and drive Karate forward, and they want to make sure everybody who trains with them fulfils their potential within Karate. Karate is not to be entered into lightly; it takes dedication, discipline, time and effort on behalf of the student to master the Art of Karate. It is also a rewarding and practical skill to participate in. |
