3rd Dan
Michelle began Karate back in 1989 and 17 years later she has reached the grade of 3rd Dan. Her interest in the Martial Arts, helped her to decide to take up the Art of Karate all those years ago. She found the Budokan Wadokai Club, under the instruction of Roberto ‘Swede’ Mastrangeli, was ‘hooked’ and hasn’t looked back since. She has entered many competitions over the years and picked up many trophies for fighting and for Kata. Michelle is an ‘old school’ martial artist, meaning that she prefers a strict regime of training, including good fitness training. She enjoys teaching and prefers to go ‘back to basics’ for training in Karate, preferring to know and learn the technical details and the reasons behind the ‘what, why and how of all aspects of Karateka. Over the years, Michelle misses the 'old way' Karate. It has been adapted and has evolved into competition/fighting Karate, a more quicker, speedier form of karate, therefore diluting the quality of Karate. |
