Chris “Guvnor” Williams is currently a 2nd Dan in Wado Ryu Karate, and has been practicing Karate for over 24 years, (and he says "still cant get it right") out of that time, he has been teaching for approx. 7 years. Throughout the years, Guv has won various trophies including individual, & team fighting and also Kata competitions. He gained his 1st Dan Black belt in 1999 and his 2nd Dan in 2001. Guv has been close friends with Hugh "Bungie" Ruse since he was 14 (Guv says Bungie is older than him!!) and a deep respect and loyalty has been founded from this long term friendship. Guv followed Bungie into karate in 1981 when he joined the Budokan Wadokai Karate Club under Roberto Mastrangeli (Swede). Guv has recently rejoined karate after an enforced break of over two years following a serious motorcycle accident which nearly destroyed his ankle. After the accident it took him a year to re-learn how to walk. He now hopes to be able to improve the ankle to allow him to train for his 3rd Dan grading. |
