Welcome to Budokan Wales ! Budokan Wales is a Karate and
Kickboxing Group, under Chief Instructor
Hugh 'Bungie' Ruse 5th Dan. Budokan Wales consists of good
quality and fully qualified Male and Female instructors, with years
of experience behind them. Budokan Wales is affiliated to
Welsh Karate Kai., licenced by
Welsh Karate Kai. and an insured
member of the WKGB. We train in the Wado Ryu style of
Karate, which means "Way of Peace". It is a traditional
style of Karate (meaning "Empty Hand"), although weapons
are used in Karate. In training we use every part of the body to be
a weapon, which makes it an ideal form of complete physical and
mental exercising. Karate is also an excellent form of self-defence. Also at Budokan Wales you can learn Kickboxing. This is a modern form of martial arts incorporating the skills of boxing and Karate. It is a fighting sport but is also a great form of fitness and self defence. A lot of our students do Karate and Kickboxing and find that they complement each other very well to allow them to broaden their skills. As
Instructors we will teach you karate to the highest standard. You
are then able to learn the best karate available to you, which will
include ‘Basics’, ‘Kata’ and ‘Kumite’. We have a very high standard of
fighting in Budokan Wales, with several champions at local,
national and international level over the past 20 years. When you learn Karate or Kickboxing with us we
will understand all the problems you have when learning karate or kickboxing, as
we have been there ourselves, We will help you to overcome these,
with patience and understanding, as we ourselves have been trained
to do. All the Instructors at Budokan Wales have the same aims for karate and kickboxing. They all want to promote and drive Karate and Kickboxing forward, and they want to make sure everybody who trains with them fulfils their potential within Karate or Kickboxing. Karate and Kickboxing is not to be entered into lightly; it takes dedication, discipline, time and effort on behalf of the student to master the Art of Karate or Kickboxing. It is also a rewarding and practical skill to participate in. |
